Terms of Service
Last updated October 30, 2026. These terms are provided in good faith and will be reviewed by counsel before sales open; the version in force is always the one on this page.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Dennon Forrester Developments, a partnership of Kody Dennon and Terry Forrester ("Dennon Forrester Developments", "DFD", "we", "us"). They cover wildbound.dev and its subdomains, prince.kodydennon.com and dfd.kodydennon.com, your account (one account for every DFD game), purchases, memberships and the DFD Supporter subscription, the DFD Launcher, and our games, Wildbound and The Prince (together, the "Services"). The End User Licence Agreement, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Membership Terms, Community Guidelines and Copyright Policy are part of these Terms.
Please read section 14 (Disputes and arbitration). It requires most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration, waives class actions, and explains how to opt out within 30 days.
1. Who can use the Services
You must be at least 13 years old to make an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you and is responsible for your use, including purchases. We don't knowingly allow accounts for children under 13.
2. Your account
- Give us an email address you control and keep it up to date. We use it for receipts, security notices and account recovery.
- Keep your password, authenticator codes, recovery codes and passkeys to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once at support@wildbound.dev if you think someone else has access.
- One person per account. Don't sell, share or transfer accounts.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or the law, or that is used for fraud, chargeback abuse or attacks on the Services. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
3. The game is in development
Our games are in development: Wildbound in pre-alpha and early access, The Prince in early access. Features, content, prices and system requirements change as they are built; some features may be added, changed or removed. Saves and worlds from one development build may not load in the next. Early access includes every update during early access and the full game when it is released.
4. Purchases
- What you buy. Buying a game (or receiving it through a subscription, membership, gift or code) gives you a licence to play it under the EULA; you don't buy the game's copyright.
- Prices and taxes. Prices are shown before you pay and may differ by country, currency or sale. Where we are required to collect VAT or similar taxes, they are added and shown at checkout. You are responsible for any other taxes that apply to you.
- Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive your full card number. By paying you authorise the charge, and for memberships, the recurring charges described in the Membership Terms.
- Gifts and codes. Gift and multi-pack codes are for giving to others; each code can be redeemed once and has no cash value. Codes obtained by fraud or from unauthorised resellers may be revoked.
- Pay more if you like. Any amount you add above the price is a voluntary payment for the same product and is refundable under the Refund Policy like the rest of the order.
- Refunds. See the Refund Policy. Chargebacks and fraudulent payments end the related licence.
5. Activation and offline play
The launcher activates each device once, online, and stores a signed licence file. After that the game runs offline. A copy can be active on three devices (PCs or phones) at a time; you can free up to ten a year yourself. Licences for refunded, charged-back or revoked purchases are placed on a revocation list that the game checks when it next updates. Members' licences work as described in the Membership Terms.
6. Playtests and test builds
Test builds are pre-release software provided as is for testing. The Tester Terms apply. We may end test access at any time.
7. Your content
You may post bug reports, ideas, poll votes, support messages, attachments and other content ("Your Content"). You keep ownership. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and use Your Content to run, support and improve the Services, and to show public posts on the site. Ideas and feedback can be used to improve Wildbound with no obligation to pay you. Don't post content you don't have the right to post. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the Community Guidelines.
8. Videos, streams and screenshots
You may stream, record and share videos and screenshots of the game, including monetised ones, as long as you don't present them as official, imply endorsement, or share the game files themselves. The EULA has the details.
9. Acceptable use
Don't: break the law; attack, probe, overload or disrupt the Services; bypass security, bot checks, rate limits or licence checks; scrape or harvest data; impersonate anyone; distribute the game, its files, keys or licence files; use stolen payment methods; abuse refunds or chargebacks; or harass anyone. The Community Guidelines apply everywhere people talk on the Services and in our Discord.
10. Our intellectual property
Our games, their code, art, sounds, writing, logos and the Services are owned by DFD or its licensors and are protected by law. Third-party content is credited on the credits page and used under its licences. These Terms give you no rights except those stated here and in the EULA.
11. Changes to the Services and to these Terms
We may change or discontinue parts of the Services. We may update these Terms; for material changes we'll give notice on the site or by email at least 14 days in advance where we reasonably can. Continuing to use the Services after the effective date means you accept the new Terms. Changes don't apply retroactively, and section 14 changes don't apply to a dispute already notified to us.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Services and the game are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure. Pre-release builds may crash, lose data or behave unexpectedly. Some jurisdictions don't allow some exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, DFD and its partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from the Services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) US$50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Disputes and arbitration
Talk to us first. Most problems are solved fastest by support. Before starting a formal claim, send a notice describing it and the relief you want to support@wildbound.dev. We'll do the same for you. Both sides will try in good faith to resolve it for 60 days.
Binding individual arbitration. If it isn't resolved, you and DFD agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court, except as listed below. The arbitration is administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, and the Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. For claims under US$10,000 you may choose to arbitrate by documents, by video or in person in Humboldt County, California or the county where you live. Fees are paid as the AAA Consumer Rules provide; we'll pay your filing fee above the amount you would pay to file in court. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could, but only for you individually.
Class action waiver. You and we may bring claims only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one person. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim must be decided in court, not in arbitration.
Mass filings. If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed by or with the help of the same lawyers or coordinated group, they will be administered in batches of up to 25, with the remaining demands held until each batch is resolved, and the parties will in good faith discuss a global resolution.
Exceptions. Either side may bring an individual claim in small-claims court in Humboldt County, California or where you live, if it qualifies. Either side may ask a court for an injunction against infringement or misuse of intellectual property or against unauthorised access to the Services.
Opt out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing support@wildbound.dev with the subject "Arbitration opt-out", your account email and a statement that you opt out. Opting out doesn't affect the rest of these Terms.
Consumers outside the United States. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country whose law doesn't allow this arbitration agreement or class waiver for consumers, this section doesn't apply to you. You can use the courts and consumer bodies where you live. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
15. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to section 14, the state and federal courts located in Humboldt County, California have exclusive jurisdiction, and both sides consent to them. If you are a consumer outside the US, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
16. General
These Terms, with the documents they link, are the whole agreement about the Services. If a part is unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them in connection with a reorganisation or sale of the business, with notice. Notices to you go to your account email; notices to us go to support@wildbound.dev.
